The new digital meeting space for Microsoft employees will be based on the Microsoft Sharepoint Server 2007 platform. Getupdated will create the entire concept, design and implementation.
Stockholm, 12 November, 2007 – In February Microsoft will launch its new Intranet, Insidan, and has given Getupdated the task of conceptualizing, designing and carrying out the technical implementation of the Intranet.
“With the aid of Getupdated we want to create an Intranet which is a modern digital meeting space and source of information for Microsoft’s employees,” says Johnas Liljegren, Online Marketing Manager, Microsoft Sweden. “We will therefore utilize all of the popular functions often used on the public net.”
Microsoft’s digital meeting space
Microsoft’s Swedish Intranet is called ”Insidan” and this will be the sole aspect retained when the Intranet is launched on a totally new platform, Microsoft Sharepoint Server 2007.
“The objective with our new Insidan is increased participation and commitment from the employees,” says Johans Liljegren. “Because of this it has been a natural step for us to try to utilize the mechanisms which have given communities, blogs and news feeds on the Internet such broad acceptance and usage as well as their interactive qualities. That’s where we think we can use Getupdated’s experience from new communications solutions on the web.”
Creation of the entire concept
Getupdated will produce the entire concept, design the solution and also be responsible for the technical implementation of the Intranet. Many new features will be included in Insidan such as collaboration tools for internal conferences and dialogues, RSS feeds, tailored screens and adjustments for mobile terminals. Internal applications and features will also be accessible from the meeting space and the employees will also be able to publish material themselves on Insidan.
